Diagnosed in 2021 at the age of 58 and it impacts my right side. It took me a year to wrap my head around the diagnosis having seen the disease in action in the 1970's with a great grandparent. I'm fortunate that I have 2 PD Centers of Excellence in my local area and work with a neurologist that is specializes in movement disorders, but they can only offer a drug that is over 70 years old, DBS surgery or destroying a part of the brain via high powered, targeted laser treatment as symptoms progress. Western medical practice is limited and I needed to find another way to treat PD.
Hippocrates said "all disease starts in the gut" so I started on a wellness journey looking to heal my gut and liver by working with alternative therapy practitioners that focused on liver and gut health and saw substantial improvements that allowed me to reduce the meds I was on. Gut health goes beyond bathroom habits - it's about the microbiome and inflammation. The other best medicine for PD is exercise and I was told that during one of my initial consultations. There is a recent Harvard study form February of 2024 discussing exercise - I highly recommend you read it.
By chance I found Cerenovex and incorporated it into my daily routine which is now focuses on gut and liver health and it has worked well for me. I started taking it in April of 2025. It take it at 5AM with some nuts and fruit and either go for a walk or go back to bed for an hour depending on weather. I don't put much stock into supplements - I will experiment with them but after 4 months if there's no difference, there's no sense in staying on them as they are expensive. About day 50, I noticed a measurable difference in right shoulder rigidity and some mild improvement with resting tremor in my right leg.
Please know this is not a cure-all. I have made significant changes to diet and lifestyle. There are NO processed foods in the house, my diet is gut friendly and I work with a nutritionist as I continue to fine tune my anti-inflammatory diet, I exercise 5 days a week based on heart rate zones, make sure to get quality sleep and manage stress. All of these combined with a good vitamin and supplement protocol have helped me stave off progression and even regain some fine motor skill movement since my initial diagnosis. Do I move as well as I did 5 years ago? No... but I move a lot better than I did even 4 years ago when first diagnosed and have reduced meds.
Here are my concerns though - this product is expensive even if you subscribe to an auto ship schedule, it's not made in the USA, and most bottles I receive only have a remaining shelf life of a few months. Customer service is good when I reach out with my concerns, but I still have concerns.
Bottom line - it's worth a try for 2 to 4 months to see if there are any improvements along with a gut friendly diet, exercise, stress management, and quality sleep.
Best Wishes!
